FBI finds new tech head in John Adams
FBI Director Christopher Wray has picked John S. Adams as his executive assistant director for the Information and Technology Branch. Adams started the role in early February.
Adams comes to the IT leadership position with a wealth of experience within the FBI — he joined as a special agent in the Washington Field Office in 1997. Since then he has held leadership positions in a number of field offices and at the Counterterrorism Division. He served most recently as the assistant director of the Directorate of Intelligence.
Adams comes in to replace James Turgal, who ended a long career at the FBI and joined Deloitte at the beginning of this year.
Historically, Adams’ new role carries the title of CIO as well, but that position is currently held by Gordon Bitko.
