Gharun Lacy leads cyber and technology security for the State Department’s Diplomatic Security Service, bringing cybersecurity, technical security and investigative expertise together to support diplomacy. A career Senior Foreign Service security engineering officer, he has worked stateside and at posts around the world, including Iraq, Colombia and Belgium. His directorate helps protect the technology and information on which embassies and diplomats depend. Lacy’s experience with the physical and digital dimensions of diplomatic security gives him a broad view of the risks facing a global organization that must communicate securely while operating in challenging environments.
