Golden Gov: Federal Executive of the Year
Kirsten Davies was sworn in as the Pentagon’s CIO in December 2025 following Senate confirmation. She leads enterprise information technology and cybersecurity policy for a department whose networks and digital services reach across the military. Her role calls for aligning technology investments with operational needs while improving the security and resilience of the systems personnel use every day. Davies brings executive technology leadership experience to an organization where modernization must work across services, commands and mission environments. As CIO, she helps set the direction for the department’s digital infrastructure and for the people responsible for delivering and defending it.
