HUD picks Johnson Joy as its new CIO
Joy comes to HUD from a long career in the private sector.
The Department of Housing and Urban Development has named a new CIO — Johnson Joy assumed the role this month.
Joy comes to HUD from a career in the private sector and more than 20 years of experience in the IT field, the agency said. He most recently founded and served as CEO of J3 Global Inc., an IT consulting firm based in Houston, Texas. There, according to a HUD memo, Joy focused primarily on “financial and insurance services, healthcare and working with nonprofit organizations.”
HUD’s former CIO, Rafael Diaz, left the post in January after serving over two years. Since then deputy CIO Kevin Cooke has been filling in.
