President Donald Trump named John Zangardi to be the CIO of the Department of Homeland Security on Thursday.

Zangardi most recently has been serving as the acting CIO of the Defense Department since his predecessor, Terry Halvorsen, left the department in February.

This isn’t the first time Trump named a DHS CIO during his first year in office. The president tapped Richard Staropoli to be the department’s IT chief in April, but within less than three months, he resigned. Since then, former TSA CIO and current DHS deputy CIO Steve Rice has been filling the acting CIO role at DHS.

Prior to his acting CIO role, Zangardi also served as the Pentagon’s principal deputy CIO as well as the Navy’s CIO.
