Suzette Kent

U.S. Chief Information Officer, Executive Office of the President

Suzette Kent is brand new to the federal IT community, but she will no doubt have immense impact as she serves as the first official U.S. CIO of the Trump administration. In some of her first public comments in the role, Kent told FedScoop she is “honored and excited to be able to leverage my experiences in complex global technology transformation and accomplishing things that have not been done before for federal employees and the everyday, hardworking American.”

While the role seems like a big shift from her financial services background, she said she’s trying to handle the job with this piece of wisdom in mind: “Don’t agonize over taking the bold leaps — the result is worth it. Every opportunity provides learning experiences. Therefore, look at not just the task at hand, but what skill-building experiences that one gains regardless of how simple, mundane, complex or nebulous a task may appear.”
